The networking event titled "Summer Intersections," held on June 25, 2026, in Tokyo, brought together nearly 55 professionals from ICIJ and the German (AHK), Austrian (ABC), and American (ACCJ) Chambers of Commerce for an evening of meaningful exchange and new connections.

It was wonderful to see people from such diverse cultural backgrounds and industries engage with one another so openly. The variety of experiences in the room created a warm, dynamic, and genuinely international atmosphere.

Conversations covered what it means to adapt to life and work in Japan, as well as the broader experience of assimilating into different countries and cultures. Many attendees shared personal perspectives on building a sense of belonging while navigating unfamiliar environments.

 

There were also thoughtful discussions around career transitions, professional growth, entrepreneurship, and the challenges and opportunities involved in starting new ventures.

 

The evening was a strong reminder of the value of creating spaces where professionals can exchange experiences, learn from one another, and build relationships across communities. We are grateful to everyone who joined us and contributed to making Summer Intersections such an engaging and memorable event.
